I first photographed Luca last year when he was just 6 weeks old. Now he’s a big 1 year old and it was time for his latest portrait shoot. It was nice and sunny so we went to the local park and on the way came across a host of golden daffodils that Luca showed absolutely no interest in whatsoever : )
I met up with Donna & Sam at the lovely Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park, London. It was the first day of British Summer time so we were able to start a little later than usual. A wedding was taking place at the lodge, the sun was out, what more could you ask for.
A brand new look for Desire Portraits. I met up with Kate at the river side in Richmond, Surrey and with assistant Rachel we tried out a few new techniques that will be the signature look for 2009 and beyond. Well done Kate, you look great.
The first dance is often even scarier than the speech for the groom but these great routines show how a bit of effort and a great sense of humour can really lighten up the evening. Why not contact first dance for some lessons and really get the best out of the band.
Ok, so the day belongs to the Bride & Groom but guest photography is just as important. Make sure your photographer stays until at least the conclusion of the speeches or you may miss out on wonderful moments like these.
Lorna & Daniel were married at the beautiful St. Paul’s Church in Winchester. After visiting the salon of Guy Kremer the girls returned to Lorna’s parents house for make-up, a bite to eat and final preparations. The marquee was a design masterpiece with room for 200 guests and a dance floor which was packed all evening, it just goes to show the importance of having a great band!

The “day in the life of…” album is the ultimate gift for the little people in your life. A whole day captured forever and presented in a bespoke hand crafted album to be treasured for generations. Sophia’s day started with cake making and then a trip to the park to hunt for magic Easter eggs. After lunch we visited the canal after which Sophia was just about ready for bed, but not before I managed to capture her baby brother’s first crawl. A brilliant day documented for all time. Farnborough has its very own boutique wedding gown shop, Madeline Isaac James on Alexandra Road. I was asked to shoot the new collection at the fantastic Highfield Park at Heckfield. With my assistant Rachel we met the crew on Saturday morning and started on the 16 hours it would take to show the dresses at their best. Working with two lovely models, Milly and Tamatha Kayler it was hard work and great fun in equal measures. Here are a few photos to give a flavour of what went on over the two days.

Just to prove I can photograph more than cakes and confetti I set myself a challenge to photograph some creatures. Hmm, it’s quite difficult, hats off to the people that make a living from this stuff. The photo of the deer required 4 hours of stalking, crawling through mud and “other” substances. I think it was worth it though?
